Terms and conditions

1. Purpose

These terms govern the requests, quotes, orders and services placed with L21STUDIOS SARL (RCCM CM-NSI-02-2026-B13-00125, NIU M022618380910E, Michaus Hôtel, Ngousso, Yaoundé, Cameroun) through the l21studios.com website. Making any request constitutes acceptance of these terms.

2. What the website does

Book: you describe a project and we send you a quote. No online payment at this stage, and no commitment before the quote is accepted.
Print: you order photo prints and pay online. The order is binding once paid.
Photo book: you design a book online, then order it and pay for it online. You can download its PDF preview free of charge.
Photo restoration: you send an old photo, artificial intelligence restores it, and you see the result before buying it.
My account: follow-up of your requests, quotes, orders, invoices and galleries.

3. Services on quote (photo, video, applications, marketing)

The quote specifies the services, deliverables, dates, price and deposit. It is valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
The contract is formed upon written acceptance of the quote (by email, WhatsApp or signature) and payment of the stated deposit. The date is only reserved at that point.
Online payment: when the quote provides for it, the deposit (and, where applicable, the following instalments) can be paid online by Mobile Money (Orange Money, MTN MoMo), from the personal link sent with the quote or from your client account (My quotes), through our provider NotchPay. Paying the deposit online means you accept the quote. Payment fees are borne by us, unless the quote provides that they are added to the online payment: the exact amount, fees included, is shown before you pay. A receipt is issued for each payment.
The balance is due when the deliverables are handed over, unless the quote sets out a payment schedule.
Unpaid balance: if the rest of the payment is not made after the service, we keep its files for 6 months after the date of the service. After that, L21STUDIOS SARL is no longer responsible for keeping them.
Non-refundable deposit: once paid, the deposit is not refunded under any circumstances, whenever the cancellation occurs. It reserves the date, which we then refuse to other clients: we take bookings up to six months ahead, and less than three months before the event the date can no longer be offered to anyone else. The client owes nothing beyond the deposit.
Postponement: the only possible change is a change of date, requested more than three months before the event. It is subject to the agreement of L21STUDIOS SARL and to its availability on the new date; the deposit then applies to that new date. In the three months before the event, the date can no longer be changed.
Force majeure affecting the client (bereavement, hospitalisation, with supporting evidence): the postponement is granted free of charge, even in the last three months, to the first date on which L21STUDIOS SARL is available.
Inability on our side (illness, force majeure): we offer a replacement photographer or videographer of equivalent standard, or refund in full the sums paid.
Deliverables are handed over within the timeframes stated in the quote and in the FAQ. We keep a copy of the delivered photos (JPEG) for 3 months after delivery; raw files (RAW) may be deleted at any time after delivery (Image rights page).

4. Photo printing

Prices are shown in CFA francs (FCFA), per print, according to the size chosen. The price of a size is without frame: any frame is added at its own price, together with the service and delivery fees shown before payment.
Payment is made online by Mobile Money (Orange Money, MTN MoMo) through our payment provider NotchPay. The order only goes into production once payment is confirmed.
You warrant that you hold the rights to the photos you send. We refuse unlawful content.
As the prints are made from your own photos, no right of withdrawal applies once printing has started.
Refund: in full if a photo cannot be printed (insufficient resolution, unreadable file) and you do not wish to replace it, in the event of a double payment, or if we cannot fulfil the order. The refund is made to the original Mobile Money number.
Collection at the studio, or delivery in Yaoundé within 24 to 48 working hours after printing. A print damaged on delivery is reprinted free of charge, provided a photo of the damage is sent within 48 hours.
Your photos are kept as set out in section 5B: 24 months after handover for prints; for a photo mosaic, a shape or a collage, 6 months for your photos and 24 months for the finished creation.

5. Photo book and PDF preview

You design the book yourself in the website's editor, and it is saved in your customer account. The price is shown before payment: the price of the size for the base number of pages, extra pages, options (design by L21STUDIOS SARL) and delivery.
Payment is made online by Mobile Money through NotchPay. Production only starts once payment is confirmed. An unpaid order can be cancelled from your customer account; the book can then be edited again.
Approval: before paying, you confirm that you have proofread your book. It is printed exactly as it appears in the preview (photos, cropping, texts and their spelling). The editor flags photos whose resolution is too low and blocks the order if a photo would be blurred in print. Colours may look slightly different from one screen to another.
Design by L21STUDIOS SARL (option): we design the book from your photos, then submit it to you for approval before production.
As the book is made to order from your photos and your choices, no right of withdrawal applies once payment is confirmed.
Manufacturing defect (printing, binding, missing pages): the book is remade free of charge, provided a photo of the defect is sent within 7 days of handover. Full refund in the event of a double payment or if we cannot fulfil the order, to the original Mobile Money number.
You warrant that you hold the rights to all the photos in the book, including those uploaded by your guests through the upload link you shared.
Free PDF preview: it is only for proofreading the book and showing it to your loved ones. Its photos are faded, carry the words “L21STUDIOS” across their centre and are at screen resolution: it cannot be used to print the book elsewhere.
PDF proof (print approval proof): more faithful, it is included with a book that has been ordered and paid for, and is offered to testers chosen by L21STUDIOS SARL. Its resolution is deliberately reduced and it carries the word “Épreuve” (proof). A proof already purchased remains downloadable for that book; it is not refundable.
Collection at the studio or delivery in Yaoundé. You are informed by email at every stage: payment received, production, book ready, book handed over.
The print file of your book is kept 24 months after handover, its photos 6 months (section 5B).

5A. Restoration of old photos

Restoration is carried out automatically by artificial intelligence, without human retouching. You always see the result, as a reduced, watermarked preview, before any purchase.
Free trial: only one per person, for life, assessed by account, phone number and email address. It produces the “Fidèle” (faithful) version.
Paid trial: at the displayed price (100 FCFA at present), it produces two versions, “Fidèle” (faithful) and “Poussée” (enhanced). Its amount is deducted from the purchase of the high-definition photo. A trial once started is not refundable; in the event of a technical failure, it can be run again free of charge.
Purchase: at the displayed price, you receive the file of the chosen version in high definition, without watermark, to download from your customer account. As this is digital content supplied immediately, no right of withdrawal applies once payment is confirmed.
Limits: artificial intelligence cannot recover what has disappeared from the photo. The “Poussée” (enhanced) version may reinvent small details, including on faces: it is up to you to compare it with the original before buying.
Retouching by the team: at the displayed price, a L21STUDIOS SARL retoucher reworks the photo by hand, following your instructions, without inventing what is no longer visible. The high-definition file is included and delivered to your customer account within the stated time. Work starts upon payment: it is not refundable once started; if the result does not match your instructions, we rework it free of charge.
At times of high demand, a free trial may be queued until the next day.
You warrant that you hold the rights to the photo you send, or the consent of the people concerned or of their family.
The high-definition file you bought stays downloadable in your client account for 24 months: remember to save it (section 5B).

5B. Keeping your photos

We keep your photos for the time needed to make your order, to provide after-sales service and to let you order it again. The retention period of each type of file is given on the Privacy page (section 5). In short: 24 months after handover for the photos of your prints and for what you bought (finished creation, print file of the book, high-definition restoration); 6 months after handover for photos sent for a creation, a book or a restoration; 3 months for an order never paid; 12 months for a book never ordered.
An order in progress keeps all its photos.
One month before the end of the period (and also one week before for a book), we let you know by email. From your client account, you can download your photos, or ask to keep them 12 more months, free of charge; you can renew this request.
At the end of the period, the photos stay 30 days in a bin, from which we can still put them back, then they are removed. The order, its invoice and its thumbnail remain in your history.
We are not a backup service: always keep a copy of your photos.

6. Prices and invoicing

Prices on the website are indicative for services on quote, and firm for printing, photo books and photo restoration at the time of payment. An invoice or receipt is issued for each payment and remains available in your customer account.

Adviser code. The benefit attached to the code of an L21STUDIOS adviser (free delivery or a discount on prints, depending on the code) applies only once, to your first paid print order; it appears in the total before payment and cannot be exchanged for cash. The code is entered when you create your account or in your account area, before any paid order (see the privacy policy).

Promotions. During periods announced on the website (start and end dates), a discount may apply to prints from A5 size upwards and to photo books, once a set amount of discounted items is reached: the rate, the threshold and the end date are shown on the website during the period. Only A5 prints and larger (price without frame) and the price of the book size count towards this threshold and are discounted; small sizes, frames, the book's extra pages, design by L21STUDIOS SARL, the PDF proof, service fees and delivery keep their price. The discount appears in the total before payment. It cannot be combined with the benefit of an adviser code: the more favourable of the two applies. Outside these periods, or below the threshold, the displayed price applies.

7. Obligations

The client provides accurate information and the access and authorisations needed at the event venue, and ensures the safety of the team on site.
L21STUDIOS SARL carries out the service with care and with professional equipment, and hands over the agreed deliverables. Style, framing and selection are a matter of its artistic judgement.

8. Liability

The liability of L21STUDIOS SARL is limited to the amount of the service concerned. It does not cover the consequences of a cancelled event, an inaccessible venue or instructions that were not passed on. Photos and files are kept for the periods set out in section 5B and on the Image rights page; beyond that, keeping them is the client's responsibility.

9. Complaints and disputes

Any complaint should be sent to contact@l21studios.com or by WhatsApp to +237 697 28 48 49, within 7 days of handover. We reply within 5 working days and first seek an amicable agreement. Failing that, Cameroonian law applies (Law No. 2010/021 governing electronic commerce) and the courts of Yaoundé have jurisdiction.
